The travel industry has been hit hard this year with holidays cancelled and refunds having to be given but we are all hopeful that in a couple of years’ time things will look far more normal and we can get back to enjoying holidays abroad again. Now is the ideal opportunity to plan and possibly start saving up for that longed for holiday so that when it comes it will be truly amazing.
One idea is to find a map of either the world or Europe and think about the places you would love to visit. Take the time to research the destinations online to find out more about these places and the attractions that they offer the traveller.
You could consider different types of accommodation that each place has and even think about choosing somewhere to stay that you will not normally choose for instance if you always go for all-inclusive go for self-catering instead allowing you to sample the local restaurants and cafes.
Travelling around your chosen holiday destination can be planned in advance even if you do not book anything yet. Using the local transport system in a country can give you a much greater appreciation of the country and its people so think about using the railway or bus facilities that the locals use instead of hiring a car.
