Holidaying in a touring caravan is very popular in the United Kingdom not only in the summer months but throughout the year as some caravan sites are open all year round.
If your holiday is to be enjoyable there are some essential preparations that need to be made.
Firstly, your caravan needs to be checked to make sure it is roadworthy. It may not have been moved for a few months, so the tyres need to be checked to make sure they are properly inflated and that they have sufficient tread on them.
Secondly, the heating and water systems should be checked and flushed through with a sterilising solution to ensure that the water pipes are clean and germ free. The gas and electric supplies need to be inspected and tested for any safety problems and any smoke and carbon monoxide alarms should be tested as per instructions.
The brakes and electrical connections on the caravan hitch should be inspected and all the exterior lighting such as brake lights, indicators etc. need to be tried to make sure they are all working correctly.
If these checks are carried out before each journey with your caravan, a problem free holiday is more likely.
